DAIRY MANURE COMPOST
Benefits of Cow Manure in the Garden
Fertilization is a tried-and-true way to get ornamental
and edible plants to grow, flower and fruit at their optimum levels.
Manure is one of the oldest methods of fertilization,
and using cow manure in a home garden is simple.
Its advantages include high nutrient levels
and widespread availability, a lower heat than chicken or horse manure,
and it contains beneficial micro-organisims.
Cow manure contains the three main
plant nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
Nutrient levels in cow manure are roughly:
11 percent nitrogen, 4 percent phosphorus and 10 percent potassium.
The nutrients become available to plants at a moderate speed.
Fresh cow manure also has a sizable water content -- 86 percent;
making it beneficial keeping soil evenly moist throughout the growing season.
Aged 3-5 Months..............................$35.00 / yd
Aged 6+ Months ..............................$41.00 / yd
